As woodworkers, even though we can sometimes have our head down concentrating on our own sawdust—most of us are quite good at appreciating the inspiring work going on around us. There are certain pieces worth sitting up and taking note of, and Market Sideboard by Siosi Design is one of them.

AUDI & IVY

Siosi Design is Audi Culver and Ivy Siosi - "partners in life, collaborators in design", and two women who make the most fantastic pieces from their studio in Bloomington Indiana.

DESIGN ELEMENTS

With their Market Sideboard, Ivy & Audi have given us a perfect example of good design, beautifully executed. It is the subtle touches that make all the difference. The waterfall edge between the top and the sides provide a continuity to the piece. While the continuous grain that runs between doors and drawers allow the front elevation to flow magically.

NATURAL WARMTH

The sculpted base is nicely balanced in scale and proportion. While the subtle accents of the dowel joinery into the base panel from the side gable allow us a view into the sideboard's construction. The hard wax oil finish allows the natural warmth of the solid walnut to shine through.
